According to a FB post by Goldmund UK in 2017, four 5500 monoblocks costs 1 million pounds. Of course street price is less...What is the price of the Goldmund 5500?
My GF and accountant waiting on your answer. And my psychiatrist.

Cheapskate!The 5500s are around $500K/pair British Pounds.
I am going to drive my M9s with two Pilium Achilles stereo amps at $50K each.
Nice cable lifters too— a dozen of which probably cost more than some nice sounding systems. So the 5500 stands for $500 in thousands?
Unlike the M9s, they only need one pair of the Goldmunds, a bargain all round. You really are not thinking of upgrading from your Zus are you?
Nah, those are bling...NAT probably sounds better...Unlike the M9s, they only need one pair of the Goldmunds, a bargain all round.
Lucky the XVX were owned by the same gentleman otherwise you would be reluctant to post comparison comment. Incredible sound.Yes I did listen to the XVX. There is, imo, quite a vast gap between the two. I should state that I am not a major fan of either brand so no bias towards either of them. The XVX was nice, pleasant, nothing was wrong with it but didn't really do anything emotionally. May be the Decepticon looks have something to do with it.
The M9s have a quite extraordinary delicacy which belies the look and size. I heard more from the M9s on some of my tried and tested CDs than I have ever heard in thousands of repeats but it was never annoying and never gave me the feel of something being high resolution. It was very pleasant sounding. That might sound like damning praise but I assure you it is not. I hate gear that tries too hard and gives you a headache. Bass was not overwhelming even with dual 15 inch woofers. With only 50hrs on them I expect them to loosen up over the next few months but I have to admit the sound so far is more than satisfactory. I would recommend everyone to go and listen if you get the chance. I never felt any of this with the XVX. The owner did comment that the XVX only need one pair of monoblocks so the real price difference is substantial if you add in the cost of an extra pair of Goldmund 5500. Such is the price of admission I guess.
It certainly makes it easier....he still owns the xvx though. Just in another system. To be honest it is what it is, regardless of price difference. If I thought the M9 wasn't good, I'm quite happy to say so too.Lucky the XVX were owned by the same gentleman otherwise you would be reluctant to post comparison comment. Incredible sound.

Problem with the systems is his room, it’s too dominant. The Goldmunds are sterile which doesn’t help things.Yes I did listen to the XVX. There is, imo, quite a vast gap between the two. Hmm, the polar opposite to Ron's musicality thread. At $500K a pair, you would not expect sterility.
but you might expect a lot of gold...At $500K a pair, you would not expect sterility.
Maybe that is the reason they are so bloody heavy:but you might expect a lot of gold...
Like a Swiss bank vault...Maybe that is the reason they are so bloody heavy:
The Gold is not only in the name but also inside the bulky boxes

Don't take ddk for granted. Anything less than Howie's doing pole dance in red undie no longer excite him.At $500K a pair, you would not expect sterility.
