After two years of glitches our overhead music distribution system (populated with my carefully auditioned ceiling speakers) is now working reliably and sounding pretty darn good for ceiling speakers. (When we were having a drink on the deck Kedar commented that the outdoor-playing music sounded pretty good, and those speakers are less good-sounding speakers than the ones inside.) Often I now listen to music all day long from my Qobuz favorites song list accumulated over the course of my life (356 tracks).

This morning somehow I stumbled across a 2020 album by Patty Smyth, formerly lead singer for the 1980s group Scandal.

Patty’s voice is rich and strong. The songs definitely have a 1980s sound to them — which no doubt is a major part of why I liked some of them immediately! The songs are 1980s pop-y, with a hint of country.

Unfortunately, it looks like this album was never released on vinyl.

Has anyone else heard this album? What do you think?

It’s not a bad album, certainly not the best album (regarding new material) one could expect from Smyth.

Production and Vocals are good, but the whole album isn’t very involving me or one I’ll be eager to hear again soon.

But the music videos for this album really don’t work.

Don't know about the video Ron, i listened to the album on a streaming service.

The last LP from her as a solo artist that got any promotional attention/radio play was Never Enough (1987) as far as I'm aware.
