SOtM sNH-10G Switch : Mods & Tweaks!

If you ease the out slowly from bottom they will come away and you will be able to just slot them back in afterwards. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the tip! Got it out.. now you wouldn’t happen to know the name of this connector?

Sorry wasn’t clear. Not that connector - the JST style 2 pin that connects the wire. Cannot find anything that matches this style in my local electronics store or even online…
Hi @Totima

Are you referring to this connector ?

Here are the part numbers:

Molex 0050375023 (Crimp Housing)
Molex 0008701039 (Crimp Terminal)

Question to sNH10-G owners: do you prefer to take output out of the switch (& into your streamer / renderer / network bridge) via RJ45 or optical out? I know that SoTM does suggest using ethernet out and then a SoTM filter. I'm interested in what the users found via experimenting.

My current personal favorites are Zayin Audio SupraReg LPS, Plixir Statement LPS & Ediscreation Firebird LPS.

any review / opinion on which psu to pick - ferrum hypsos or plixir statement elite bdc?
My personal favourite is the Plixir Statement elite BDC, which I use on both of my SOtM switches, my router and my Apple TV to very great effect.

Personally I prefer this set-up:

Router > Ethernet > SOtM Switch > Optical > Sotm Switch > Ethernet > Streamer

I tried ethernet instead of Optical and with a Chord Sarum Ethernet, but I prefer the CISCO SPF-10GAOC5M as I felt it has a quieter background and gave made the sound more open while removing all sibilance.

Hope that helps.

This was a dealer recommendation and I did not believe it, but I tested and realized he was right. I got the best sound from using the iFi Power Elite, after testing Hypsos, SOtM LPSU, and other expensive ones. Its not that they are inferior, but as the guy from Alpha Audio once said, matching power supplies to ethernet switches for achieving high quality audio is not easy.

I just wish the in/out connection where on one end of the unit makes for a neat setup…

The iFi Elite power supplies are in my opinion the best value power supplies. I frequently prefer them to much more expensive power supplies that I also own e.g. Ferum Hypsos, Farad (even with upgraded fuses). The iFi Elites are only a third the price too.

Regarding Sotm switches, I use the filtered SOTM cat7 ethernet cables from an Etherregen (which is plugged into my Router) to SOTM SNH-10G and fiber connection to a second SOTM SNH-10G. My SOtMs are fed with 10M external clock signals from Mutec Reference 10 SE120 Clocks

The Etherregen also feeds the ethernet to my other 2 stereo systems through the house.

Lounge system is also running dual SOtM snh-10g's fibre link between externally clocked from another Mutec Reference 10 SE120.

I am very tempted to try all 4 SOtM switchs on the same stereo to see if it brings further improvement but part of me is scared to do so as I might then struggle to put them back on Lounge system :)

Regards Andrew

I am looking to add the same Mutec clock to my pair is SOtM switches. Which clock cables are you using?

Thanks in advance.

Belden 4794R as recommended by Alex at Uptone Audio

I will try some Tubulus Concentus and Mutec PSC cables shortly.

I highly recommend the Mutec SE120

What cable are you running between your SOtMs? Fiber sounds best to me.

Until recently I was using the Cisco SFP-10G-AOC3M AOC Fibre cable, which beat all of the Finisar SPF I tried from here: https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/...work-switch-group-buy-for-audiophilestylecom/

But then I was recommended the Amphenol SF-SFPP2EPASS-002, which although is coper is a big step up from the Cisco. https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/amphenol-cables-on-demand/SF-SFPP2EPASS-002/6873733

I have gone for a pair of SOtM dBCL-BNC75 based on the Audiobacon review. Sounded like being up my street.

Now the wait for them to arrive.
