The only picture I have. And I thought you like the rear end more.Sorry but why are you showing the back only of a front loaded horn?
The subwoofer cabinet is very deep. The front of it goes pass the speakers quite a bit.Tang,
Where are they going to go in your office? Against the front wall, behind the speakers, I assume.
So will the speakers be pulled out by the depth of the subwoofer cabinet?
We will see how it goes. Could be better. Could be worse. Riding an audio adventure!I hope you will be happy with them. Our speakers are more alike than they are different so I feel like I can have a broad idea. For me, not having the last two octaves is something I would miss, especially 50hz to 100hz. One other thing I know is it will be hard for you to get used to bass, whatever configuration have because you are now used to not having it. However, when it is done and integrated nicely and some time passes, I feel you won't be able to do without it.
I had the same exact drivers that Ralph uses (still keep about 4 of them in my storage because they are good) and tried them in both folded flh (what he will send to you) and bass reflex (what these drivers were designed for) configurations. I am a die hard horn lover but I never could like the folded flh solutions integration so I kept listening other solutions. You may remember, I had many bass solutions and combos, including folded flh only, bass reflexs only, br+tapped horn... In the end and to my surprise, the best solution that has integrated great (audibly and measurably) was open baffle servo bass arrays which I still use. So If you can get used to or like the Folded FLH solution, let me know and I will share the details of my trials for you to try.
These things will get sorted in a while, what is more important is the record collection and you have a great one developing. I envy your relationship with the General
ps. I got some great records from Bangkok, you got some nice record stores!

For some reason TAD woofers are hardly if ever used in FLH. Look at all those 2401 to 2404 designs as well
It is because they were designed to be used in bass reflex cabinets, check out their relevant t/s parameters. It was that reason I have also tried them in bass reflex cabinets.
I will put sticker logo of Altec on my subs maybe can fool you my big fella.Yes I think that's their biggest disadvantage which is why TAD is known for its midrange and tweeter
What brand of bass driver (ones that are still in current production.) that you find excellent for folded flh.It is because they were designed to be used in bass reflex cabinets, check out their relevant t/s parameters. It was that reason I have also tried them in bass reflex cabinets.

Interesting - some time ago I considered the open baffle servo bass array for the SoundLabs, as technically it seems the best sub for panels. Do you know what type of sensor (coil or accelerator) is used in the GR's to send a signal back in the amplifier?
GR Research uses Rythmik audio's direct servo technology (http://www.rythmikaudio.com/DirectServo.html). They just mod the amp for OB usage. The woofers are also different. GR woofers use paper, so they are lighter, can be crossed higher and has a better tone.
