I talked about sibilance in the Master Sig thread and look what ddk sent me. Three pairs of RCA's and a roll of speaker cables from Amazon. LOL.

This is his way with me. He never persuaded me..but leave the option to me to try myself.
I am very very happy with my Kuro. I am also not Ron Resnick on sibilance. I will try these cheap cables only if I change to new amps and preamps and the sibilance gets too hot.
My journey continues.

Tango, you want to dance? David suggested to me the exact same cables and wires. I'm not a client, so he didn't send them to me for free, hehehe. I really like the 1M Radio Shack IC. The longer ones to my amps have a grounding loop or something which I may try to sort out., but I can't listen to them as is. I have not tried the speaker cable yet. I love the idea of saving money any way I can in this hobby.
Do yourself a favor and at least try the Radio Shack ICs. It won't take long, and you may be shocked or pleasantly surprised.
What other thread are you guy's discussing? I missed this one about Ron's arm/cartridge musings.

So Peter, are you going to jack your Vibraplanes in anytime soon? I mean, like pricey cables, a tweak is a tweak. And Vibraplane is not necessary for yr gear, SME, Pass etc don't supply yr gear w it.
Good question, but off topic. I will experiment with the Vibraplanes as I am taking out all tweaks and reevaluating. The five Townshend Seismic Sinks were out and are now back in. The Vibraplanes are likely to stay too, but I will be taking a serious look and may report on my findings elsewhere.

You know Peter We are not going to be very popular for industry associates if I try and then reconfirm your finding. Or else people would think we were poisoned by ddk's virus. But if it can save people money and sound good and honest I think we should tell for people to consider.
Marc, I have not found rack and passive vibe mgt platform take away musical info in my system. I only took out tweaks that did take away musical info..once again in my system. I think Peter is walking the same path as me in this.

Well, I ditched those Mooks. You know the ones.
And one or two tweaks I've tried recently sounded v nice initially but became apparent they were euphonically coloured, e.g. IsoAcoustics Gaias.
Some were really useful in my old room but only marginal here, and JUST deserve to stay in ie Entreq grounding.
Some are great on some gear and marginal on others ie SR Black fuses.
Others are just slam dunk crazy good and my system just loses magic without them ie Stacore, Sablon cables, Westwick balanced power w Oyaides dedicated lines/Furutech sockets, RevOPods under my Zus.
And my newest discovery, a "simple" Tubulus Argentus DB-25 cable that connects my pre to its psu, just strips out so much noise that microdynsmics and ambient detail brought to the fore.
Every so often I progressively strip these out (only my Stacore stays put 100%, it's part of my tt now), and the result is a shrunken, harder, hazier, greyer sound.

I have these cables since long. I use them mainly as a tool - they supply me a basic reference to compare others - but they are not my preferred cables in my system. As far as I see your system is fundamentally different from the systems David assembles or helps to tune, as well as your assumptions and preferences. I would not expect you to like so much the 1M RS IC. How are you using it?
BTW, I do not like the idea of saving money any way I can in this hobby. I know since long that it usually results in spending extra money to compensate for poor decisions.
Francisco, audiophiles trying to save money. That's as laughable as hookers trying to be monogamous.
My educated guess is that they are picking up hum - typical of cheap RCA cables. Don't be surprised if the humming noise goes up if you touch the cable with your fingers or palm. Try cheap XLR and it should go away
Yes, system is balanced. I wanted to try out some cheap Radio Shack cables which are single ended. This is a long run.

Because it is the cause of the hum you reported in Tang's thread.
When used with monoblocks you must float the mains ground of the amplifiers - something I do not like. The RS cables have considerable ground resistance - they have only a small number of thin ground wires, and the ground loop creates a significant amount of hum.

Audioquattr gave me a head up on issue of Epoch mounting on SME headshell. Here Grado special made Epoch to fit SME properly.
