The General sent me a while ago two Schubert Arpeggione cello by Rostropovich. One a Decca SXL6426 the other a London Super Analog disc..Japanese I think. I do not like the Super Analog one and much like the Decca. The Super Analog has a dynamic boosted to it. The sound is also a bit larger and warm. I think they put in a bit more reverb to it too. It lacks the dynamic contrast and clarity in tone of the Decca. Loss of nuances can be heard on piano strike. This reminds me of many audiophile power cords. That is why I threw away mine and adopt the Ching Cheng.

I found the Sibelius I like. It is by Christian Ferras. Thanks for recommending. I have no subs but still at sudden crescendo it really caught me off guard..almost leaked in my pants.

I have both ED1 and ED2 versions of Decca Schubert Bridge. The ED2 narrow band sounds very good. ED1 WB sounds significantly better and gets over $1,000 USD at auction. Is your copy wide or narrow band ?
Narrow. This is one of the rare ones where narrow is excellent as well, though WB ED1 is supposed to be better but imo too much price. Also those WB auctions to get a real minter will cost a lot.

Check the LP of your Mendelssohn Campoli and the Arpeggione and the white band running across in the middle. See the difference in width of the band

The one Tang has is narrow band.The Campoli Tang has is wideband.The difference can be observed by the small Decca box versus the larger FFSS circle at the top of the label.
Most use this as a way of knowing the era of press.However much more detail is required to know first press versus subsequent others.

Tang, your Decca Campoli Mendelssohn will have the broad band but with original recording by written in place of made in England (as you see in Christian's pic)... In other cases of originals the original recording by is ed1, and made in England is ed2. However as this was made later in 1970, for this it is slightly changed. The made in England is ED1 and the narrow is ed2, normally the narrow would not be as good at Ed4 or Decca repress
IME Super Analog like other audiophile labels are in the business of turning musical recordings into hifi so one can complete the circle with one's audiophile cords and dog litter boxes! Sometimes they can get away with some Jazz reissues by goosing the top and bottom but not on classical music.

This record is a knockout. I don't even like Beethoven but this is the most realistic sound of violin coming out of my system! Amazing! The high dynamic passage makes excitement but it is the low passage that really help deceiving me real.

Ah, yes... Decca licensed a lot of albums to RCA, makes sense. But I thought typically they end up pressing them and mastering, so they had an RCA flavor. Is that not the case for UK RCA? Or is it random?
This press is the UK era equivalent of a US shaded dog stereo.
The lacquer engineers at Decca may have changed some part of the mastering process,however the main differences were the machinery and the substrates chosen for pressing.
