Very interesting. I think the setup is not complete. It sounds like it covers 120hz-6khz only.

Yes he hasn’t put the subs on. The speakers are still opening up

I think it sounds quite promising, high noise level though.

I'm not sure if my experience applies here, but when my Altec 288 were new, I seriously suspected they were deficient, as I had no output over 10 KHz. It took hundreds of hours before they opened up and started to sound like a completely different driver.
Might be the case with Tango's drivers as well.
Bass is pretty much the same story- hundreds hours of playing time before they opened up. Sounded broken in the beginning. Eventually I ended up selling my dual JL subs.

Tang said they are opening up but Altec 288g/h have higher highs, and the 1 inch like 802g higher than 288.

That's what I meant to say. Too early to pass judgements.

817 does not require subs. Well, any bass head can add subs, but it excels at rock and orchestral depth without subs. Because of the design of the 817 cab it is ideal for a 2-way that completes the spectrum, with the purity of a simple first order crossover, which now to me is high resolution. Less loss of signal is high resolution. It allows a very simple no feedback low watt amp and pure circuit throughout.

Ditto, But it has taken me some time to come to this realization.

Seemed to sound good at ddk’s so why would they need break in now? Maybe not a good fit for the room?

Let's discuss after subs and some more set up
