Zero Distortion: Tango Time

Who is WE?
The Brits? The Indians? Or the majestic WE? :p

He was referring to Bill and me in his post that I replied to, so yes the majestic, London and around, early 40s, weight lifting WE

Do you know of any WBF member that does not make informed choices? o_O

Lol loads. Did you read the survey that showed most buy carts unheard? Some have No exposure to sets and then buy an expensive one to run a giant cone they won't work on and put it back for sale in three months.

Well Ked, at least we have MP3s on WBF so anyone buying a piece of gear in Tang's system doesn't need to hear it first hand otherwise.

Micro, now that you have put back quickly on the market the VTL, the lamm, and the other push pull (CJ or AR? ) that I had previously warned you against and of course you didn't know what you didn't know at that time, what is now your informed choice? Devialet?

Dear Micro,

I am just sharing my view from what I hear. Maybe I should have put imo at the end of every sentence. ;) (Now this is the time for a smiley.) I never comments about anyone's purchasing of gear. It is their money. I also do not even defend for the gears I own when someone gave a negative comment or feedback on them. I only comment about what I have experience on..mostly from my system. If I want to know about something I buy it to experience it myself...then I write to give data points to people. I do not debate. People are entitle to their opinion and I take that as is. No persuasion is needed. And every day is a sunshine day for me sir.

Kindest regards,
Tang

Dear Tang,

Fortunately you wrote your general comment in a sunny day. I can't imagine the words you would use in a cloudy day ... ;)

An interesting subject to debate in another thread, as it needs some space. I always bought my cartridges unheard.

I have to say I could go on living with any of them - it is an hard choice, any of them sounds great. An interested buyer would help me to decide ... ;)

And yes, I am not considering Devialet for the XLF, but I know some people who use it with the Alexia II. But their musical preferences are different from mine. Probably a top server such as the SGM Extreme or Innuos Statement would help, but I can not try everything ...

That was a low blow Ked.

Well he didn't have to make such silly statements then. People do not make informed decisions? seriously? He likes spreading these falsehoods that this is an efficient market and price reflects informed decision and quality and that everyone is informed like in a stock market

If you want to comment my posts, please quote me and we can discuss them. I do not consider my statements (or other people, BTW) as silly, they just show my own perspective of the hobby and the high-end industry.

And he can take the criticism, he’s a big boy ! Micro said it himself once,
for him it is to a large degree about the equipment, not just the sound.
What fun is just taking other people’s advice, when you can try it yourself at home ? Mike has the same approach. I respect that and wish i could afford
it myself ;)

I totally understand the hobby being about equipment. I have nothing against that. It is micro's assertion that the gear market is an efficient market where all buyer's make carefully judged choices. Also that higher priced gear is better, Jason helibrunn is a good reviewer as he does not compare, and analog and digital are equally good.

Please don't confuse him with Mike, we have already had Beethoven and Bartok mentioned in the same sentence today

I still think Micro should visit David in Utah before buying his next TT :)
We need a AS2000 in Europe !

His first step should be to visit Milan, Heathrow, and Germany to hear horns. If he goes to the the US he will probably end up visiting Wilson owners along the way and not learning much else
