Zero Distortion: Tango Time

Thank you you all. Now I have a lot of youtube to listen to all that recommended to me.

I'm no Jazz aficionado but this is worth looking out if you've not come across her

Cecile McLorin Salvant - Womanchild form her Womanchild album which is lovely

Wonder if they are in separate rooms or in the same rooms when recording. This is very interesting to me. I like to have both new and old recordings not only enjoying music but learn the difference in different types of good sound.
Love of music yes but for me spent so much money on curiosity as Bonzo commented somewhere before.

If you like a bit of avant-garde/modern jazz, and not only the “Old Masters”, I highly recommend David Murray recordings on Soul Note/Black Saint label:

Thanks Vlad. Free jazz confuses the hell out of my soul. It is like taking triple shots of Bartok. I am a very simple minded person no complexity. I also dont like electone jazz with electric guitar. It gives me headache every time I listen. I am saying to show my preferences in general.

My 5yr old came to my room and told me to play his favorite. Duke's Satin Doll. Mr.T the Thai who has both WAMM Master Cro and Living Voice gave me this popular audiophile d2d album. Sonically it is superb. Can you guys name 5 jazz albums that I must have.

Just for the music, sounds are not great ... Erroll Garner ?– Concert By The Sea

A must have. https://store.acousticsounds.com/d/...n-This_Ones_for_Blanton-Preowned_Vinyl_Record

I got to the point that any jazz album with Ray Brown I grab it.

Yes - a must have. I'm not much of a jazzhead but This One's for Blanton is fabulous. I came across a couple of unplayed single sided test pressings of the AP reissue. Didn't know anything about it but a friend said to grab 'em. Pablo/Analogue Productions APJ 015

In 2017 I wrote about the album's sonics in a component review:

"String bass and piano sounded more lifelike than I previously heard from any vinyl record. Each musician held his place within the soundstage, and the dimensionality of their instruments was vividly obvious in my mind’s eye. Together and in solo their performances are both highly and subtly dynamic. Tonality was complete across the full range of each instrument. I heard how really low piano bass notes interacted with the instrument’s sounding board as Ellington played the Second Movement of "Fragmented Suite for Piano and Bass." If you don’t think jazz piano is dynamic, listen how Ellington hits a single piano key with solid emphasis -- there is startling vivacity and solidity in the attack as the note jumps out from the speakers. Light keystrokes had their own dynamic; indeed the dynamic range seemed to expand at each extreme and became continuous across it. Detail cashed out as physical presence. Fret buzz, string rattle, tone bending, hand touches, notes bouncing off the piano’s lid and from within the bass’s resonance chamber -- it was all there with a sense of utterly natural musical expression, as darn close to live as I’ve experienced from recorded music."

I'd guess they were in the same room, the drummer takes the lead from someone, I'd think it's most likely her

I saw her last year at the Barbican in London, just a piano accompaniment. While the songs she chose that night weren't really to my taste, mostly show tunes, her vocal and the quality of the piano were well worth the price of admission. Great to explore something different, I reckon curiosity is a prerequisite on this forum!

This album I really like, start to finish, it's nicely recorded, well seems to me to be and last I looked the vinyl was still widely available

hello T
did you get to hear any of our recommendations?

Frankly only listened to youtube that G posted. No time to go through just yet. My boy has been asking me to watch youtube on Extreme Weathers with him constantly this past week. He made me learn how Hurricane and Tornado are formed and their differences, etc. I think he is smarter than Bonzo and Spiritofmusic combined. Youtube is very educational for my boy I find. Less time for music these days.

Cleverer than me and Ked? That's no big deal. I've spent a fortune running to five systems, Ked has spent a fortune and no system. It doesn't get stupider than that Lol.

One mans fortune, is another mans monthly cartridge budget, or in Keds case, food budget ;)

Did you two have fun at the Bournemouth beach a few days ago.

Actually I think Keds a genius like a symbiotic system

he sucks the musical genius out of everyone else, enjoys music vicariously and slowly builds his system and doesn’t buy twice"......maybe the smartest audiophile ever :) was

Tang, I laughed my stupid socks off when the BBC interviewed a guy griddling himself on the beach, within 0.5m of dozens of others, wailing apocalyptically about the coming second wave.

People are tired and giving up to possible casualty for a reward of normal living. They come to term with death because death has not reached their family just yet.

You think that's why the fight between the 200 or so people took place? They were siding with either Marc or me?
