was by invited by my friend Rune Skramstad, who designed my sub horns to get an introduction to his new line of pro audio as well as hiend subs and satellites today in the renowned Rainbow Studio in Oslo.
the big mother of a sub is a 6m long cnc´d alu snailshaped horn with dual custom Celestion 21 inchers.Rune tutored his friend Bjørn Kolbræk for his horn theory doctorship so being snatched by celestion certainly opened up a few possibilities.
The brand NNNN is definitely worth watching closely even for hiend audio nuts.
The biggest sub horn plays flat to 16 before starting to roll off and it does so at 145db and just cruising along at +100
and with differentiation of harmonics and tone in spades
watch out guys...

Any sub that dwarfs a B&W802 (or is 801/800) demands respect

the head of the studio keeps blowing the B&Ws because the cannot fill the room properly, so Rune said he´ll replace them with the smallest subs and the satellites on the stands that do down to 90!

Appreciate the recommendation Leif. I am settled with my system now. Only thing I need to do is to find someone to put the head block of my Studer back to its place.

Folsom recommended me this record a month ago. It is Schumann Piano Sonatas by Lazar Berman. He said this Schumann is very entertaining. Indeed it is. I really enjoy the whole album and think I can put it on play often without getting bored. It is the kind of album that you just listen along enjoy the music and just flow with it without giving attention. The label is Columbia Melodiya M34528. Great value for what I paid for. Good sound. Could be better if a little more liquid and vivid imo. Classical vinyl person should all have one. Thank you Folsom.

unless its been realigned or rebuilt it´s just to install it....headblocks on same Studer models can be swapped between machines without need for realignment

It's not an SXL, no. I might try a Russian only pressing to see how it compared. Good stuff either way, I think.

We are on the same page Folsom. Hearing the same from the recording. I also learn that many old recordings has a certain way of placing mic giving a focus to leading musician and a vintage sound of orchestra which doesnt pick up sound of instruments in a more revealing way of modern multi mic multi placement. Most would rank the sq 5 out of 10. But for me I just accept it as the fashion they recorded back then. I do very much enjoy such great performance of old famous musicians and variety of recording styles.
