Btw a similar discussion happened when you dismissed Oistrakh Scottish Fantasia after listening to it on YouTube.
I bought the Oistrakh because of youtube and also many other records. You are one of my data point. Why are you so happy thinking people bought things because of you. You really need to see a shrink. :p

No you were resisting buying that one because of youtube.

If you bought on my recommendations you would have a dual woofer FLH by now

Tang, to refresh your memory you had the Arthur Grumiaux Scottish Fantasia LP, which you preferred over Oistrakh on YouTube. And resisted buying Oistrakh. After buying, you said the Oistrakh was better

I like Tang's findings through YouTube. While The General does recommend amazing stuff, some of it is on the technical side and Tang manages to find stuff more on the emotional side. (I'll still take anything I can get that the General recommends)

YouTube findings are good in isolation, but if someone says the LP is better there is no point arguing otherwise based on YouTube. After hearing the LP if one things so it is fine. YouTube is a guidance, not necessarily an exact correlation, to what LP is.

It is not correct that G's stuff which has technically superior performances is only on the technical side. It is difficult to think straight while listening to those LPs, which are indeed technically superbly performed, but they are that emotional. After I heard the Haitto, for a few days every day I woke up, I would stream the Haitto on the mobile. Once when I was at work, I went down, to a corner, and played the Haitto on the mobile. That is because it kept haunting, couldn't work. It is intensely emotional, and technically brilliant

Today I had a picnic with my mother and grandmother today. Lake Couer D’Alene. Beautiful, sunny. I feel bad for people in NYC etc.

FYI I haven’t got any ordered LP’s yet dating back a bit. I still suspect they are coming through. Mail is considered essential.

The bridges in the SF bay area used to cost 50 cents.

Did you keep proper distance Folsom? A friend of mine visited his parents not knowing he was infected, they both came down with covid and had to be hospitalized !

She had a confirmed antibody test?

No, that wasn't available at the time (or even now) - her doctor declined to test her (before they even had good tests anyways, and non available in the area) and instead treated the lingering bronchitis from it. This was awhile back when there were early confirmed cases in the area of California where she was at. Sadly she flew home not knowing what was going on. She had 100% of the symptoms. And it was the sickest she's ever been in her life. Luckily when she got home she self isolated because she was so incredibly tired.

She contracted it from her sister's grandchildren and children that were all sick. Her sister is ok but says she still doesn't feel like she did before it.

When talk about mono cart, the Miyajima Zero always comes up as if there is no other challenging mono cart. I don't have much experience with mono cart. Only have one Etna Mono. Personally I think my other mc carts can do better playing mono than the Etna Mono. Maybe it is not about mono or not mono cart maybe I just don't like the character of the Etna that many seem to prefer over Atlas. Anyway I have been commenting that when you have a great mc cart you can enjoy mono records even more than the mono one that was designed to be mono but don't have other attributes that great mc carts can offer much more. Then ddk rang me a bell. He said Tang this is very special...very limited. Something Vdh never done before. And he sent me these pictures.

This Master Sig Mono makes sense to me. I love the sound of MS and I have been owning more and more mono classical. This will at least retain the sound of Master Sig I like while playing mono records more properly. But really it is because ddk said this is "very special" that's why I said send me one. This cart is in the same vdh top quality grade as the Grand Cru that just appeared in Australia.

I never liked the character of the Etna compared to the Atlas either.

I thought the Vdh monos was something he offered on request, though I doubt there were many/any. is the one you have now going to be rolled out as a regular product?

Miyajima made two stylus sizes, one for modern monos (recorded from stereo) and one for true monos. Interesting to know what vdh had in mind when he made this.

This is the first mono cartridge Mr. van den Hul ever made! I had a conversation with him last year and I asked for a mono cartridge as good as master sig and he came through. This is a very special cartridge and I can understand why he was so excited about it, listening to mono records with a cartridge of this caliber is a very special experience completely different to what I've heard with all the other cartridges.
