I have Van Eps in my family tree...about 1/4 dutch. That must be where I got my affinity for useful hemp...;)

I worked as a waiter for the Bulldog on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam as a student. Getting busloads of American college kid doped up was our trade .....

FYI: Last night on the Charlie Rose TV program, they said Obama's approval (50.2?) rating is actually slightly higher than George W. Bush's at re-election in 2004. And it's been going up the last several months as the economy improves.

Too bad for Mitt Romney, aren't gas/energy prices one of the five cornerstones of his "plan"?

50.2 approval rating ...... ROFLMAO ...:)

Phfff, dats easy peasey, ask them to name the VP and watch them stammer ......... :)

Forget the stammering. Americans have an uncanny ability to display compete and utter ignorance with an air of complete self confidence. I have always foung this fascinating. When they say smart things, the self confidence is the same. Very confusing. Sort of like Japanese always saying yes, and you have to figure out what they really mean.

He gets two votes, therefore. Dutch and Canadian. I knew this would be easy.

Do I get a third vote for also speaking French?
;)

On the ballot today there was Yes/Si/Wi (not oui) in another decade it will be Yes/Si/Wi/?/??/ ???

Or Si/Wi/?/??/ ???/Yes. The world is a changing place and I kinda like. Diversity is a wonderful thing IMO!

Wi is "Yes" in Haitian Creole ... This to me speak eloquently of the US of A

A tie for Obama and Romney in nation's first results
The first presidential election results are in - and it's a tie.

President Barack Obama and his Republican rival, Mitt Romney, each received five votes in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.

The town in the state's northeast corner has opened its polls shortly after midnight each election day since 1960 - but today's tie was the first in its history.

The result was unexpected, said town clerk Dick Erwin. The town has two registered Democrats, three Republicans and five independents.
"Considering the way things are polling around the country, we may have been the first tie of the day," said town clerk Dick Erwin, noting the national polls showing a virtual dead heat in the race. "Keep your eyes on the news reports, because it's going to be a wild ride."

The town, home to about a dozen residents, has drawn national media attention for being the first place in the country to make its presidential preferences known.

Unlike some parts of the country, election officials never have to worry about lack of interest. Dixville Notch has had 100% voter turnout since it started its first-in-the-nation voting tradition.

Under New Hampshire voting law, a poling place can be closed once all registered voters have officially cast their ballots. With all 10 registered voters on hand, the community had its tally shortly after midnight.

However, since 1996, another small New Hampshire town - Hart's Location - reinstated its practice from the 1940s and also began opening its polls at midnight.

The result there? Obama 23; Romney 9

The result in Dixville Notch is hardly a reliable bellwether for the eventual winner of the White House - or even the result statewide.

Although the community typically leans Republican, residents went for Obama in 2008 - the first time the majority of folks in Dixville Notch went for a Democrat in 40 years.

:)

---- Hi George,

The program I watched had different statistics; I simply reported what they reported.
...It must be from different variables.

I think we have seen the results from the WBF poll, time to close this thread now?

---- Don't people have till midnight for voting? ...In the poll. ...Or perhaps till 9:00 PM Eastern time.

And I certainly don't want to see this thread closed as we all wanna see how close our own votes represent the ones (total general average) of all the USA.

Closing the thread will still allow you to see the poll results. If it the thread goes into the FUD bucket, then yes....bye, bye! (at least for members, not admins and mods)

I don't think the thread will be closed anyway....

Not really Frantz , we all are better served moving ahead in one language, If i voted in Haiti, i would expect creole, same as voting in Mexico, I would expect Spanish , this is very much what is currently wrong with the USA, Federal matters should be conducted in English only ...
