Listening to my new Extreme and a large DXD track (33 min and no problems, so far)
Discovery or Concert needs to be set before play commencesWhen is concert vs. discovery mode set? Does it have to be selected before play/queue?
Please describe the rules for how and when concert mode is determined and activated.
Also are the gaps between tracks the same for all bitrates?
Cheers
At the present time I actually hard code the 24/32 bit setting in the configuration file. In due course the choice of 24 or 32 will be selectable from the AppAnother point of clarification, if someone happens to know the answer. How do the USB choices (1-4) and bit-rate settings interact, if at all, with xdms? I understand how to adjust those for Roon, but it's unclear to me whether they even matter for xdms--and, if so, how to adjust them for my particular dac. I'm interested only because I'm demoing a new dac and would like to optimize it for use with xdms.
Thanks.
Ed, thanks for the quick reply! Can you point me to the config file so I could adjust that setting? I saw you do that, but didn't take note of where that file resides. At the present time I actually hard code the 24/32 bit setting in the configuration file
USB profiles set the buffer sizes
each DAC has its preferred profile as per the Guide on the Taiko Website

On the USB profile, xdms shows in DAC settings that I'm using the 4 profile (which I think you set based on my old dac profile). My demo dac specifies using Profile 3. I know I can't currently just change that in xdms, but I loaded USB3 on the Extreme and xdms still shows 4. Do you think it's really using USB3 now, in reality?
Thanks again.

For robustness sake, I would rather edit the .conf
The syntax is unforgiving
Best line in a long time! And so true, right? The syntax is unforgiving
Well, I was so trying to be optimistic, but it did stop at 23 min into the 33:50 track:

Not to worry, the team have this on their list. I'm sure it will get fixed.

Someone will correct me no doubt if I've got this wrong, but my understanding now is that the DAC profile sets the buffer size and once a new profile is loaded (from the Extreme desktop) it stays until someone manually loads a different one. Eventually that looks to be configurable in xdms, perhaps, or perhaps auto-loaded based on one's chosen dac--I'm just speculating here, of course.Hi Ed,
I have the same issue as Jpowell.
So to be clear, are you saying that if one wishes to change the DAC profile in XDMS, that it is better for the user to run the USB profile script for the particular profile?
As opposed to the user trying to edit the config (.conf) file - as the latter is easy to screw up and is best left up to you to do?
David…… be careful. set it and forget it until you get a new DACI am curious where the bit rate is set in the player.conf file.
