I would be concerned that the sheer weight of the sheet metal will result in bending if it is only 3/8" thick

If that's the case, Herzan should fire it's engineers.

Engineered spec (I just checked) based on 1/2" carbon steel plate...NOT sheetmetal. 3/8" was my error. The 25"x36"x1/2" plate weight 130lbs.
Adjusted Load Capacity: 742 Lbs
Adjusted to account for uneven load (20% of total load capacity): 742 Lbs

I wouldnt feel safe with 3/8” either, but 1/2” should be fine, if Herzan specs it itll work anyway.

to my eyes, the stand being designed for Tang looks like a miniaturized version of David's tables

Congratulations Tango. You have an incredible collection of tables and what little we see of your room looks wonderful. I second the suggestion to start a virtual system page.

When you say that active antivibe never entered your mind and that Stacore is designing a stand for your new AS turntable, my first thought was that the top shelf was going to be pneumatic isolation like Jarek's other platforms. Do you consider pneumatic solutions active? You explain in some detail the second and third shelves design and what equipment will be placed on them. Is the top shelf going to be completely rigid and stable and a thick slab of steel?

Thank you Peter. The top plate for the AS is just a 25 mm thick stainless steel that weigh more than 100kgs. My priority is on the top shelf without any antivibe mechanism. Even before David’s recommendation I myself believe this super heavy solid bloc of steel tt just need a very stable and strong high mass rack for support nothing more. When I told David this he was happy I take this route. He recommended stainless steel because Bangkok is humid and carbon steel corrode. I don’t consider pneumatic solutions active.

The second tier I intend to put my phono there. This shelf I have Jarek incorporate the Stacore Advance to it. To be honest, I am not so much into antivibe rack, devices, footers, because I don’t hear much from my CMS and I heard more what I didn’t want to hear from Stllpoint Ultra6. These things just don’t sing to me. Maybe my ears are just not golden enough. I never told Jarek this. If I have told him maybe he didn’t want to take the job . BUT I want to try Jarek’s and hope he can prove me wrong. Phono to me is a good place to try. Having a Stacore Adv on second tier does not interfere at all with my top shelf so the first designing principle remain.

My first contact with Jarek was for a custom platform for the EMT. It didn’t happen but I found Jarek one of the specialist in this field, very humble, doesn’t rave about his products by himself, no ego and his design aesthetic is my cup of tea. Designer’s characters do influence my buying decision since I don’t always get to do a test run.

Steve...it's science...not subjective thinking that went into the design of my NDW23 custom active workstation. The engineers take into account what the load requirement's are...I said 700lbs and they came up with the design to meet that spec along with the required stability and rigidity needed for the active isolator modules to function properly. If the top flexed at all, the isolators would not work properly and destabilize.

Tang, I can reassure you that Stacore doesn’t appear to impose any character on what’s put on it, just gets out of the way to bring forth the inherent performance of whatever is situated on it.
I’ve tried balanced transformer, cdp and preamp on it, and each was liberated in performance. I’m even getting Stacore magic with one of my Entreq ground boxes on it, no kidding.
Your solution is an admirable way to maintain David’s ethos of solid inert support under tt, and tapping into Stacore magic with the phono. My only quibble is whether you could have had two Stacore Advanced platforms with one each for the phono and AS motor unit.
