FWIW, there are more interesting documents on the Extreme page, for instance, the USB Profile Guide and the recently added Ideal Roon Settings document, and all docs are always kept up to date.

" There was an issue loading your database" with Roon and can't load it, as I do not find any backup of the database. Any solution other than re-installing Roon?

I have not come across that error message before, but the latest Roon update came with a very high failed update rate (around 20%!!!). Simply re-running the roonserver64.exe installer fixed all of them though without any loss of data. Please reach out to support@taikoaudio.com for assistance.

Regarding DACs, you may want to checkout this Brazilian reviewer - he’s the best I’ve read in terms of how much work he puts into the reviews and his knowledge — and he’s unbiased.

I did use a Mutec for conversion from the USB/Extreme to my TotalDac but have since removed from my system. After adding a second TotalDac reclocker I felt there was a noticeable overall improvement by using the USB output from the Extreme into the first reclocker and then using the AES/EBU output into the second reclocker. YMMV.
I just realized that my Roon was not setup per the Ideal Settings PDF that’s on the Taiko website. I encourage all new owners to check that doc!
Now, the document says to use DSD over PCM, is that correct? With my Nagra DAC, I am using Native, which I believe is the best option for native DSD DACs. Can someone please confirm. Thanks.

The page you attached says, ". . . select the appropriate DSD transport stream according to your DAC's capabilities." So if your DAC is capable of native DSD there is no reason not to use that.
