Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Posted on Naver.com by member "Muscle Pain":

It is the first Memory Player MP64-16 that came in the country. When I tested it with the importing company, I got a problem with the built-in Sotm USB card and removed the Sotm USB card. I have an optional AES / EBU and coaxial jack and I set up the connection with the DAC with Coaxial. (I took the 28th today because of the Sotm USB card reinstallation problem and decided to get it again tomorrow.)

In the past, when I tested the Memory Player MP64-32, I felt that the sound of AES / EBU was better than the sound of USB, so there was hardly any sound difference between USB and AES / EBU and Coaxial.

Memory Player MP64-16 was set up with a 2.5-million-won power cable and insulator imported from an importer.

The Maximus DAC uses Vertere HB USB, Pulse R AES / EBU and Pulse HB Coaxial V1, and the power cable connected to the SGM Extreme is the PAD Mousse SE.

Memory Player MP64-16 setting yesterday, including 4 people who did the test. Memory Player MP64-16 will reset the Sotm USB card, and if it is properly set up, it will be open to public release from next week.

SGM Extreme - sale price is 23 million won

Memory Player MP64-16 - 19 million won for sale

Let's summarize the opinions of the people who have been tested together in a simple dialogue.

Q: What do you think about the sound of Memory Player MP64-16 and SGM Extreme?

A / B / C: The sound of both devices is very different. If the sound of Memory Player MP64-16 is an upward compatibility of W20, the sound of SGM Extreme sounds a lot differently.

Q) What is the difference between the sound of Memory Player MP64-16 and SGM Extreme? (3 of them are those who preferred Extreme for both W20 & Rubidium clocks and SGM Extreme shit)

A: If you set SGM Extreme to 100 points, you think that Memory Player MP64-16 is 7 ~ 80 points. I feel that there is a big difference in the resolution (here, I asked, "What did A use the word resolution in?"), A replied that the sound of the unheard sound and the detailed expression of the sound were different.

B: When the Memory Player MP64-16 is set to 100 points, the SGM Extreme sounds 130 ~ 140 points. Both devices have a completely different way of expressing sound. SGM Extreme is a directional sound to LP system, Memory Player MP64-16 is the direction to good CDT system. The way to go is different. Extreme is highly appreciated by personal taste, but Memory Player MP64-16 could be a better alternative if you like the boldness and expression of the Ordeno W20.

C: I would like to give the SGM Extreme 170 points when I take the Memory Player MP64-16 with 100 points. I can say that it is more than twice as big as my mind (worrying about what to do if I do not care). The sound of Extreme is very good in terms of musical nuances and emotional power. Especially, the memory player MP64-16 and SGM Extreme are separated from the same power tap and connected to different multi tap, so it is impressive that the difference is slightly widened. (The president of Emiko of Taiko audio, If the product is connected to the same multi-tap, Extreme's sound quality may be lowered.

For reference, among the total of 13 participants who participated in SGM Extreme and W20 & Rubidium clocks, 10 of them are Extreme, 2 of them are W20 & Rubidium clock, 1 of them is similar to Tajid streaming, It was the impression that they preferred the W20 combination while evaluating the same.

I think the people who tested yesterday are those who like the sound of Extreme.

What would be the result if we had two or three people who preferred the W20 & Rubidium clock in the asynchronous test? In my opinion, all three people would appreciate that the sound of the Memory Player MP64-16 is better than the SGM Extreme. That's why I share my test content exactly, but that's the answer and I can not conclude that this is a majority opinion.

* It was the same opinion that the sound of Memory Player MP64-16 was superior to the sound of W20 & rubidium clock setting.

This afternoon, a representative of the domestic cable company came to visit the audience.

Simply putting the evaluation back into my memory

'SGM Extreme and Memory Player MP64-16 are different in weight category compared to heavyweight and lightweight. The sound of Extreme sounds like a different birth. I feel that it is different from the file player that came in so far. I know what it feels like the scent of analog. The sound of Memory Player MP64-16 is also great. Although the file player that has been introduced so far is a feeling of good quality sound of advanced form, Extreme thinks the expression of sound differs from the original. SGM Extreme sounds Natural ~. '

And for my system, I heard the sound of this B & W speaker (800 D2) for the first time. This is a different sound from the usual evaluation of B & W speakers. Sounds like it made a good sound '

-------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------

Now let me write down my thoughts.

Although I felt it was a bit of a mess with the SGM Extreme, W20 & Rubidium clocks, Extreme thinks it is the product that announces the start of New Wave, a new paradigm for audio files that have already come in.

The sound of Memory Player MP64-16 will be aged and the quality of the sound will be improved by more optimization. And depending on the setting environment, it is also a possibility product.

I think SGM Extreme and Memory Player MP64-16 are different from each other. If you like it, SGM Extreme is a hardwood and Memory Player MP64-16 is a conifer. If SGM Extreme is an SUV, Memory Player MP64-16 is a sedan. If SGM Extreme is a train, Memory Player MP64-16 is a car. These analogies have been thought to mean that the way of expressing sounds is fundamentally different from each other.

In this respect, the spoofing of SGM Extreme and Memory Player MP64-16 is meaningless and pointless. The SGM Extreme is oriented towards the sound of an advanced LP system and the Memory Player MP64-16 is aimed at an advanced CDT system. It is pointless that it is meaningless to obscure the LP system and the CDT system, and it is meaningless to judge which sound is better. Both of SGM Extreme and Memory Player MP64-16 detect the new direction of the file player using the digital sound source It is also meaningful that you can do it.

I think it's a different device to compare two devices, one by one, of sound quality. SGM Extreme is a product of genuine new species, and Memory Player MP64-16 is a product that shows the high level of file player that has been developed.

If so, which product sounds better than muscle pain?

I like the way SGM Extreme is represented. Apart from the quality factor of sound, the nuance that is conveyed to me from music and the feeling of natural sensitivity are great.

I will summarize the testimony of the first day on this degree. For more information on the Memory Player MP64-16, please see the following review.

Thanks for reading.

The interesting takeaway is that if you prefer high grade CD playback over Vinyl, you may prefer other offerings to the Extreme. And in fact, if my interpretation of the above is correct, at least 2 out of 13 would prefer the CD playback signature with 1 question mark (undecided?).

The results we are getting from OCXO upgrades versus our "clock-less" technology is it moves the sound more to a CD playback signature rather then towards a Vinyl playback signature. So I'm not entirely convinced the 10M reference project will result in an absolute improvement. But if it does, all the better.

Server technology is maturing, we can now safely say general sound quality is becoming acceptable, and we are now entering the realms of differences in applied technologies leading to different presentations which may or may not be your cup of tea.

I guess his means a point has been reached where music servers have reached a convergence with the basis being lp's just as CD's are getting closer to lp sound and vice versa.

Now, new comparisions are referenced to open reel tape sound.

Yes, i have heard great lp setup sound closer to digital and digital sounding closer to lp's.

They will always be different, different formats just need to co-exist and should not sound similar, then we get the best of all worlds without the common pitfalls of each format.

I have abandoned lp's for the second time now, like many of us who grew up with cassettes, open reels and lp's. It was a heart wretching moment when cd's lead to the demise of vinyl.

We not see the same trend where cd's is heading towards the same.

No PhotoShopping please. Natural beauty only. We don't want to #BreakTheInternet (thanks Kim K).

Finally

11 Extremes were shipped to my poor country.

SGM Extreme made super massive hit in S. Korea.

Among digital source devices, SGM Extreme's population is the no. 1 in our country.

SGM Extreme made Korean digital HI FI market move and many audiophiles are saving the money for Extreme.

I anticipated SGM Extreme sales amount will be 25, but perhaps I can sell 70 super music servers.

I receive 5 calls for SGM Extreme everyday.

Korean audiophiles who called me can't almost order Extreme.

But there is no music servers that is more popular than SGM Extreme.

No Korean audiophiles have expensive turntable and CDT.

So SGM Extreme's fantastic quality made Korean audiophiles amazing.

Among digital source under $ 30,000, SGM Extreme has no rival.

Invincible~!

Besides Mike getting his in about a month Rhapsody will also be receiving their Extreme right around the same time, which of course will be avialble to audition.:)

No, not this year at least. In fact it looks like there won't be one on the Munich show either. Our main priority right now is supplying our clients.

Not even the Munich Show! o_O

That's very disappointing!

We will be visiting but not participating, are you planning to fly over?

Not this year, I have to reserve my leave for my son's graduation ceremony in July.
Hope to go next year.

But many frds of mine who are HK dealers will be in Munich.

Still no pictures .....
No news.
No reviews of Extreme.

I think many of us would love to hear a lot about Taiko Extreme.

I'd like to add that this discovery does not make high level OCXO's obsolete in appliances outside of the Extreme, especially the higher grade 10M variants. I don't know if it's common knowledge that 24M or 25M XO's (common on motherboards) have considerably worse noise specs then 10M XO's, just by function of higher frequency. Given the same general XO, the lower frequency models have much better noise specs, it can easily make a ~20dB difference where the "battle" in the 10M XO's is about single digit dB noise differences.

With that said we have found a way to simply bypass the dependency on XO quality in the Extreme, the result is something that surpasses the effect of even the best available OCXO's. As forthcoming as I have been sharing detailed information in this thread, this is a discovery I will not disclose and keep as one of our competitive advantages.

If your clock is bypassed, would a msb setup with the $20k femto 33 clock via usb async connection be the best connectivity which will then make use of this fab femto 33 clock.

It would be a waste to believe it isnt the best clocking solution to use.
